Here is a selection of work from when I lived in Paris and then Tokyo from 2004-2008. In Paris, the architecture and mix of cultures affected my aesthetic greatly. I felt drawn to the art of Japan, in particular the art of Ukiyo-e, the woodblock print. My paintings became a mix of Eastern and western art. This interest in Japanese art led me to move to Tokyo in 2006. During this time I was heavily influenced by the movement and frantic pace of the urban city, in contrast with the sense of isolation one feels in such a large metropolis.
