Watercolor Workshop in Ireland: May 7- 13
Information and Rates
"I am still amazed by the idea that it is possible for a complete beginner like I was (I never painted nor drew before) to learn to get confident with the watercolour and drawing within such a short period."
-Jona Joensen, from the Faroe Islands, living in Switzerland."
The watercolor workshop in Western Ireland will take place in the coastal town of Barna, minutes from the city of Galway.
Students will learn the fundamentals of watercolor in a gorgeous setting, between the hills of Connemara and the city of Galway along the Atlantic coast. Classes will range from watercolor technique and drawing exercises to urban sketching and plein-air painting.
With an emphasis on experiencing a place through painting and drawing, classes will be taught to complement painting excursions. Painting trips will include the Cliffs of Moher and beautiful Connemara as well as Galway City.
Participants will have to bring their own art materials. Upon acceptance, there will be an email with the materials list.
To get to Galway, you can fly either to Dublin or Shannon airport. From there, there are frequent buses to Galway. For the workshop you will be expected to arrive on the 7th of May and depart on the 13th of May. In Galway you will be met at the bus station and transported to Barna.
Students will stay in the Galway Coast Cottages, family run cottages, situated on the Galway Bay. The cottages are a short walk from the charming village of Barna. Each cottage has three bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, wifi, and an open fireplace. Participants will stay two to a cottage.
