A sequence of paintings capturing snow painted in white and black acrylic paint. This series of works was painted as an artist in residence at the Art Students League of New York, Vytlacil. The month-long residency was during the months of January and February, and the wintery landscape influenced the direction of my paintings. I saw how everything shifted depending on the time of day, the temperature, the wind, the rain and the snow. It changed so much that it felt like each view would disappear before my eyes and literally melt away. As a result I wanted to paint as many views as I could in the short time I had.
